NGO Slava Ukraini – overview of Activities in December

From July onwards we have mostly focused on our organizational processes. We have put together a new team and practiced working with the new processes. For further activity we need the help from our donors.

We are collecting donations for the following projects:

  • During 2024 winter to spring we want to send an additional 20 guerilla ambulances and 10 ATVs. These vehicles allow units to evacuate wounded soldiers to saftey, where life-saving first aid can be given. The total expense for the project is EUR 289 000. Donations can be sent to EE727700771007665845 using “guerilla” as the reference.
  • We want to improve the blood transfusion capabilities collaborating with our previous collaborator PULSE in frontline stabilization points. Fast evacuation and a blood transfusion administered immediately after the blood loss increases survival rates. We aim to support four units. The total expense is EUR 236 750, which includes training the medics and supplying the equipment. Donations can be sent to EE927700771008965285 using “veri” as the reference.
  • Two units have asked us for refrigerated vehicles that can transport the dead bodies of fallen fighters. One vehicle (including the car, maintenance, stretchers, tires and transport to Ukraine) is EUR 12 111 euros. Please help us supply the vehicles. Donations can be sent to EE767700771008377365 using “külmik” as the reference.

Building guerilla ambulances

The front line ambulance project was restarted by NGO Slava Ukraini in August with the aim of sending 18 guerilla ambulances to Ukraine. The estimated cost per vehicle is EUR 12 200. This includes the cars, rebuilding them into guerilla ambulances, maintenance repairs, supplying four new tyres, two spare tyres and the transport of the vehicle into Ukraine. As we have been careful with our funds we can send an additional car, totaling 19 cars. After all the costs have been accounted, we will give an individual price overview for each car.

As of end of December, 17 guerilla ambulances have arrived in Ukraine. 16 have been handed over to the units and one is waiting to be handed over in Dnipro. We have bought 19 cars in total, costing us EUR 103 150 which averages to EUR 5430 per car. The last few invoices are being collected and then we can give a further overview of the cost of buying and rebuilding the vechicles. We have compiled a manual for rebuilding the cars to make communication easier in both Estonia and Ukraine and through that, further guarantee the reliability of the vehicles in harsh conditions.

We have commited EUR 800 alongside each car we deliver for additional repairs, such as fixing shock absorbers or sending additional wheels. We have already funded the repairs for one of the donated cars.

Tactical Combat Casualty Care training

The first-aid training has concluded for now. Since May this year, 8619 soldiers have completed the PULSE training and know how provide life-saving first aid on the battlefield. 8100 soldiers were planned to complete the training, but due to the efforts of the PULSE team, they managed to train an additional 500 soldiers. The skills they learned allow them to save both their own lives and that of their fellow soldiers. It is estimated that the skills learned protect up to then people around the soldier – this means that the lives of about 86 000 soldiers are now better protected.

Slava Ukraini thanks the supporters, who during the charity show “Elagu Eesti! Slava Ukraini!” contributed towards organizing the first-aid training.

Even though the first aid training continues to be important, we have concluded in cooperation with PULSE that due to their certificates and experience they can find funding for their training through other sources. There is still an urgent need for donations to organize the blood transfusion project.
