NGO Slava Ukraini – overview of activities in July

In July, 1242 soldiers participated in PULSE or Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) training. Since May this year, 2524 soldiers have participated in the PULSE training and know how provide life-saving first aid on the battlefield. Trainings have been held in the following oblasts: Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Vinnytsia, Volhynia, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Khmelnytskyi, Kharkiv, Zhytomyr.

As per the cooperation agreement, Slava Ukraini supports PULSE with EUR 132 030 and aims to train 8100 soldiers. As a result of the TCCC training, the soldiers know how to provide life-saving first-aid techniques on the battlefield. It has been estimated that each soldier who has participated in the training may save lives of up to 10 comrades.

We visited MilSpray plant in Võru, Estonia to learn how camouflage pains are being produced. MilSpray camouflage paint, soon to be sent to Ukraine, is a spray rather than usual paste, so it can be applied quickly and efficiently when needed. Using camouflage is vital for the soldiers to be invisible for the enemy. With the help of Estonian Defence Forces we’ll send 24 000 cans of MilSpray camouflage paint to Ukraine in the beginning of August in order to protect the lives of Ukrainian soldiers.

We have been organizing the Tallinn warehouse and looking for the organizations who would need the items we still have in the warehouse. In cooperation with the National Defence Promotion Foundation we donated a large number of socks and mittens as well as some computers, phones, wheelchairs and crutches to a recently opened rehabilitation center for the soldiers near Chernihiv.
